List of slings available at the sling café & library

Not all slings might be available to rent at the sling cafe. Please contact me if you are interested in a specific sling so I can make sure that I’ll bring it along.

Soft Structured Carriers (SSC) are also referred to as ‘buckles’. These carriers have padded straps tied with buckles and usually have a padded waist band. Some are suitable from birth but others may require an infant insert (usually up till about 5 months) or will need to be cinched at the base. Available at the library are: Tula Baby, Manduca, Ergo Classic, Ergo 360, Ergo Adapt, Baby Connecta, Lillebaby, Emeibaby

Ring slings are worn on one shoulder and they form a pouch for your baby to sit in and are a great for popping your baby in and out. Suitable for newborns through to toddler-hood. Available in the library are: Yaro (denim blend), Little Frog (cotton), Hoppediz (cotton), JPMBB (stretchy)

Stretchy wraps are made of a soft stretchy cotton material, great for newborns. Available in the library are: ByKay DeLuxe and classic

Meh Dai  is basically a rectangular shaped piece of fabric with two long straps at the base to tie around your waist and two at the top tied crossed over your shoulder and brought forward to cross under your baby’s bottom and then tied around your waist. It’s way easier than this sounds! Some are suitable from newborn others from 5 months onwards. Available at the library are: Hoppediz Hop-Tye (great for small babies), ByKay Denim, Fidella Flytie

Woven wraps can be wrapped and tied around your body in different ways in a secure and supportive way. Great from newborn up to toddler-hood. Available in the library are a selection of brands and sizes ranging from size 2 – 7 and mainly 100% cotton. Please get in touch with me if you are looking for a specific size as I usually only bring a size 6 with me as this is the most standard size.

There are no official ‘toddler’ slings as such in the library but the Fidella Flytie and the ByKay Meh Dai are both suitable (so are all woven wraps). Most of the buckle carriers will last you till 18 – 24 months depending on the length of your child.
